Dear student,

 

Please read carefully and accept the conditions of participation to proceed with the purchase of the language courses of the National Centre for Classical Studies "GrecoLatinoVivo" of your interest.

 

  1. Enrolment

1.1 In order to enrol you must complete the online enrolment form and send it.

1.2 For enrolments of underage students, written authorisation from their parents is required.

 

  1. Payment

2.1. Payment can be made (net of bank charges) by PayPal, credit card or by payment into the bank account of the director of the Centro di Studi Classici GrecoLatinoVivo. Upon receipt of the amount, the secretariat will confirm the registration.

2.2. It is necessary to pay the deposit within 1 working day from the moment of enrolment and the balance within 1 week from the beginning of the course. The transfer must be made with payment on the date. Late payments and late payments will incur a late payment/administration charge of: €30 from the second to the sixth day, €70 from the seventh to the tenth day, €100 from the eleventh day. The total balance must be paid by the day the course starts.

2.3. Events like Bidua and Conventicula require participants to arrive before the start of the activities. Arrivals later than three hours before the start of the activities will be allowed with prior notice and without payment of fees/administration. Arrivals over three hours will be foreseen and quantified by the administration according to the delay and the work that this delay imposes on the school.

2.4. For events like Bidua and Conventicula, the price is understood to be exempt from incidental expenses, always borne by the participants, such as travel, transport, accommodation fees, unless specifically stated.

2.5. In the case of payment by instalments, the student is required to pay the individual instalments by the established dates. In the event of abandonment of the course, the student undertakes to pay the amount due in any case.

 

  1. Lessons

3.1. Lessons for Group or Class courses in Latin, Greek, Sanskrit and Hieroglyphic Egyptian take place from Monday to Saturday. Lessons in Individual Courses can take place from Monday to Saturday. All lessons take place in the target language, each lesson lasting 90 minutes, subject to any arrangements that may be made for organisational reasons.

3.2. Lessons are conducted according to the communicative approach, through dynamic activities like games, songs and other interactive material. Your participation is important!

3.3. Periodically the school may conduct tests to assess your level of language proficiency and progress in the lessons. Depending on the results of the tests, the School reserves the right to advise the student to move to a class of a more appropriate level.

To obtain the certificate, compulsory attendance of at least 70% of the total number of lessons is required.

3.5. For lessons on the La Rincorsa portal for individual lessons, it is specified that the lessons last 1 hour. Cancellations and lesson changes are unpermitted.

 

  1. Cancellation

5.1. The request for cancellation must be sent to the school by e-mail or registered letter.

5.2. If the cancellation is communicated more than 15 days before the start of the course, the school will retain 15% of the course fee before bank charges. Within this period it is possible to transfer the enrolment to another person.

5.3. If the cancellation is made less than 15 days before the start of the lessons, the school will retain 30% of the course fees before bank charges.

5.4. If the cancellation request is made after the start of the course, the school will retain the full cost of the course, but you can have a voucher equal to the value of the course to be used within 12 months for enrolment in another course at any of GrecoLatinoVivo's physical or online locations.

5.5. Cancellations of scholarships are not accepted.

5.6. Once the course has started, no refunds are given, neither for discontinued attendance of classes nor for dropping out of the course. In the case of abandonment due to force majeure, a voucher can be issued for use within 12 months for enrolment in another course at any of GrecoLatinoVivo's physical or online locations.

5.7. Refunds are not permitted in any form for enrolment in events like Seminars, Conferences and Study Days and for lessons booked through the "La Rincorsa" portal for individual lessons.

5.8. In no way shall GrecoLatinoVivo be liable for cancellation due to force majeure or public safety, like, by way of example, weather events or disasters. Unless specifically stated, there are no refunds for the cancellation or rescheduling of such events.

 

  1. Insurance

Students are only covered by insurance within the school.

 

  1. Data processing

We wish to inform you that EU Regulation 679/2016 ("Personal Data Protection Code") provides for the protection of persons and other subjects with regard to the processing of personal data.

According to the indicated legislation, such processing will be based on the principles of correctness, lawfulness and transparency and protection of your confidentiality and rights.

Pursuant to EU Regulation 679/2016, we therefore provide you with the following information:

 

  1. The data you provide will be processed for the purpose of carrying out the services of purchasing courses, conferences, events and requesting information or availability on the website www.grecolatinovivo.it
  2. The data will be processed by computer.
  3. The provision of data is compulsory, since without it is not possible to make purchases on the site, request availability or information. Failure to provide the data will therefore result in the contract or the request process not continuing.
  4. The data will be communicated exclusively to the parties necessary to carry out the booking contract (e.g. the teacher who follows the course) and the services connected to it.

  1. You have the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of personal data concerning you, even if not yet recorded, and their communication in intelligible form.
  2. The data subject shall have the right to be informed about:

(a) the origin of the personal data;

  2. c) the logic applied in the event of processing carried out with the aid of electronic instruments;
  3. d) the identity of the data controller, data processors and the representative designated pursuant to Article 5(2);
  4. e) the entities or categories of entity to whom the personal data may be communicated and who may get to know said data in their capacity as designated representative(s) in the State's territory, data processor(s) or person(s) in charge of the processing.
  5. The interested party has the right to obtain:
  6. a) the updating, rectification or where interested therein, integration of the data;
  7. b) the cancellation, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed in breach of the law, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which the data were collected or subsequently processed;
  8. c) certification to the effect that the operations as per letters a) and b) have been notified, as also related to their contents, to the entities to whom or which the data were communicated or disseminated, unless this requirement proves impossible or involves a manifestly disproportionate effort compared with the right that is to be protected.
  9. The interested party has the right to oppose, in the whole or in part:
  10. a) on legitimate grounds, to the processing of personal data concerning him/her, even though they are relevant to the purpose of the collection;

  1. Photos and video footage

The school reserves the right to use photos and videos taken during the course or leisure activities to illustrate its promotional material. If the student does not wish to consent to the publication of this material, he/she must write to the secretary before the start of the course. This material has no commercial or contractual value.

 

  1. Changes to the course programme and fees

The school reserves the right to change its course programme and fees.

 

  1. Acceptance

By completing the online enrolment form or any other written document relating to enrolment, the student accepts the "General Conditions of Participation."
